Satisfaction

The Elegant Mr. Richards

Keith Richards has continued his romance with American rock and roll. He released his second solo album, Main Offender, on October 20, 1992, to outstanding reviews. Outside of the gloss of the Stones, Keith created a raw, soulful album of skeletal blues, with his ragged voice singing the truth. Never as commercial as his work with the Stones, Keith's solo records stay true to his blues roots (with an occasional detour into reggae country). He also guest-starred on singer-songwriter Tom Waits's album Bone Machine that same year, and the critics also greeted that album very warmly. It would seem that wild man Keith, who always had a bad reputation as a party animal, had become one of rock's most respected musicians.

Did You Know?

Mick Jagger started acting in films in the sixties, and he continued to do so in high-profile projects like Freejack (1992) with Emilio Estevez, and small art films like the concentration camp drama Bent (1999). In 2001, he even produced his first film, a World War II drama called Enigma, which had a strong showing at the Sundance Film Festival. He also acted in a new drama, The Man from Elysian Fields, with Andy Garcia and James Coburn.
