Born to Rock

Reggie Drops Out Of School

During the mid-1960s in Middlesex, England, a musical career was viewed as a dream that would never become reality. No one from Middlesex had ever become famous, and Reggie's teachers did not envision him breaking the mold. Rather, they saw a young boy who rarely paid attention. In 1965, when Reggie met with career advisers to talk about his future, they also did not see a rock star. They saw a student with failing grades.

The eighteen-year-old Reggie decided to leave school to pursue his musical career. This risky decision could have ruined his chances for success. But Reggie, in this case, got lucky. Although he denied himself an education, he still achieved his dreams.
